Love is an attitude with appropriate behavior, and the attitude is “I’m here to enrich your life”. In this week’s episode, we continue our discussion about The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts, by Gary Chapman. In his book, the author explains how individuals generally express and experience love in five distinct ways: physical touch, receiving gifts, acts of service, words of affirmation, and quality time. Today’s episode is moderated by Mash aka The SPEWgod Drip Drip, and we are discussing Words of Affirmation.
Words of affirmation are any spoken or written words that confirm, support, uplift, and empathize with another person in a positive manner. Affirming your partner with words of love and genuine gratitude. Some examples are saying words, I love you, I’m here for you, you’re doing a great job and you’re so intelligent. These affirming words are powerful and can often validate the feeling of the person who receives love this way… In short, if Words of Affirmation is your love language, it means what your partner has to say about you and to you speaks volumes.
