Peace and salutations, SR Tribe! Welcome back to another fresh serving of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast, giving the real in a world of fake! We have an extra special episode for you, Tribe. In today’s episode, we are celebrating the memorial of Juneteenth, celebrating all the Fathers and fatherly figures for Father-day and the 26th annual birthday of our ICE QUEEN TJ!!!
Without a doubt, Juneteenth is one of the most significant days in history for all Blacks in American. In today’s episode, Mash, The SPEW God “drip drip” leads the team in moderation and educates the tribe on the history of slavery in America, and details the significance of this Juneteenth. As of this week, US President Joe Biden signed legislation establishing Juneteenth as a US federal holiday. However, in order to truly appreciate and celebrate the memorial of Juneteenth, it is important to put American history and its transgressions against Blacks into proper context. Juneteenth is historically known as Jubilee Day, Black Independence, and Emancipation Day, and this holiday commemorates the end of practiced slavery in America in 1865. It was on the morning of Monday, June 19, 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived on the island of Galveston, Texas to take command of the more than 2,000 federal troops and enforce the emancipation of its slaves and oversee a peaceful transition of power, additionally nullifying all laws passed within Texas during the war by Confederate lawmakers.
We also take time to reflect on the other Elder Gods of Sophisticatedly Ratchet, our Pops! Fathers Day is a celebration honoring the father of the family, as well as fatherhood, fatherly role models, and the influence of fathers in society. And since we gave so much love to Moms on Mother's day it wouldn't be right if we didn't show them love too! Join us as each SR member feels about their fathers, what qualities are necessary to be a good father, and share stories about their relationships with their pops. In this heartwarming episode, we figure out why dad always gets shitty gifts. If you’ve read this far you in the TRIBE and know the vibes, pull up, tune in and join us as we scream, “Happy Juneteeth Dad(dy)!”

Sly Boogie promotes awareness about the Tulsa Race Massacre and the Government's failure to make amends by distributing reparations, 100 years later. On 31 May 1921, a deputized mob of white Americans destroyed the affluent and predominantly black neighbourhood of Greenwood in Tulsa. The community - known by the moniker of "Black Wall Street" - was the country's wealthiest African-American neighbourhood until its many homes and businesses were burned down in the riot.

The sound effects and engagement of a studio audience can change the dynamic of a show and take it to the next level. Some of our favorite talk show personalities from the 90s did that best like Jerry Springer and Maury. Wednesday May 19, 2021
Peace and salutations, SR Tribe! Welcome back to another fresh serving of, The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast, giving the real in a world of fake! We can all agree that using the phrase crazy to describe someone is dismissive and usually doesn't promote a deeper conversation. However, there are instances when crazy is an appropriate adjective to describe a story. By definition, crazy means mentally deranged, especially as manifested in a wild or aggressive way, and it should be easy to call out when you see it, right?
Join us as Mash, aka The SPEW God (drip drip), leads the team in moderation as we shed light on the crazy characteristics of males and females, weigh the stereotypical pros and cons of dealing with a crazy person and share our personal experiences with crazy. It's safe to say that not all crazy is considered equal and there are levels to this shit! If you've read this far you're in the TRIBE and know the vibes, pull up, tune in and join us to figure out if "That's Crazy"!!!!

Flash reports on the blockchain NTFs and explains how they work. A NFT (non-fungible token) is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. NFT is short for “Non-fungible” more or less means that it’s unique and can’t be replaced with something else. For example, a bitcoin is fungible — trade one for another bitcoin, and you’ll have exactly the same thing. A one-of-a-kind trading card, however, is non-fungible. If you traded it for a different card, you’d have something completely different

Know Your Role
Wednesday Apr 14, 2021
Wednesday Apr 14, 2021
What's popping SR Tribe, welcome back to another episode of the Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast!
Gender roles, aka sex roles, are social roles composed of a range of behaviors and attitudes that are generally considered acceptable, appropriate, or desirable for a person based on their sex. Gender roles are usually centered on conceptions of masculinity and femininity, but there are variations.
A couple of examples of male gender roles would be men should pay for the first meal/date, be handy and able to fix things, and be a protector/provider. A few female gender roles would be women should be able to take care of the home, which includes cooking and cleaning, and be good with children.
Today, Shake The Wanderer, leads the team in moderation as we discuss the pros and cons of gender roles, how we fit into our gender roles, and if these roles are changing.
If you’ve read this far you're in the TRIBE and know the vibes, pull up, tune in and join us as we discuss gender roles aka “Know your role and Shut your… Wait What?”.
