Boogie and Mash report on the Derek Chauvin verdict. On April 20th, Former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted on all charges in the death of George Floyd. With this conviction Chauvin faces up to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, up to 25 years for third-degree murder and up to 10 years for second-degree manslaughter.

Shake reports on Governor Andrew Cuomo announcement of a "major reopening" of New York state and the media’s recent push for Covid-19 vaccinations. The Mayor of New York plans to remove capacity limits for retail stores, restaurants, bars, gyms, fitness centers, recreational venues, hair salons, offices, and more on May 19th 2021. With these restrictions being lifted there are alot of questions that needs answers, but most importantly, are we ready for the world to open back up?

Gender roles, aka sex roles, are social roles composed of a range of behaviors and attitudes that are generally considered acceptable, appropriate, or desirable for a person based on their sex. Gender roles are usually centered on conceptions of masculinity and femininity, but there are variations. 

A couple of examples of male gender roles would be men should pay for the first meal/date, be handy and able to fix things, and be a protector/provider. A few female gender roles would be women should be able to take care of the home, which includes cooking and cleaning, and be good with children.

In today’s episode Shake “The Wanderer” leads the team in moderation and we discuss contracts. A contract is a legally binding document between at least two parties that defines and governs the rights and duties of the parties to an agreement. In the most basic sense, contracts exist when one party makes an offer and the other party accepts it. The use of contracts is common for all major agreements because it is intended to be enforceable by law. 

That is the dictionary meaning, however, the contracts we are referring to today are the agreements/contracts we make in personal relationships, close family, our careers, and even ourselves. These are contractual agreements that we make with the people in our lives and although they are not legally binding, in order to maintain these relationships, we have to make basic agreements. 2021 Dating Goals (Dating During the Pandemic)

The effects of Covid have literally forced us apart from each other. However the urge for human connection hasn’t decreased in the pandemic, it’s actually gone up! In 2020 online dating sites reported a gross increase in user participation. Both Match and Hinge report a 40% increase in user messaging and Tinder racked up over 3 billion swipes in March. Due to the pandemic singles have switched over to online dating when the typical ways of meeting people vanished. Given the current circumstances internet dating is the most practical option, and the dating pool has now changed because of it too? Pull up, tune in and join us as Section 5’s very own Lil Moe aka ”Don’t Zone, my shit” moderates Dating during the Pandemic.  Are we dating to marry in the pandemic? Now that we are on this path do we have to adjust and follow the trend or defy it? Is it harder or easier to be flirtatious because of the mask mandate? Would you be open to Zoom dates?
