Own That Shit -The Many Faces of Exploitation
Wednesday Mar 10, 2021
Wednesday Mar 10, 2021
Peace and Blessing, SR Tribe! Welcome back to another episode of the BEST PODCAST EVER- The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast!
Today our Outspoken Introvert- Sly Boogie leads the team in moderation as we talk about the many faces of exploitation and unpack how it is prevalent today. Exploitation is defined as the action or fact of treating someone unfairly in order to benefit from their work. We can all agree that historically Black people have been exploited globally and continue to endure. However, here in the Americas specifically - under the most horrific and atrocious circumstances, our people continue to gracefully hurdle the bullshit and pioneer every facet of this society since our kidnapping.
Over time we have become very familiar with exploitation and calling it out from Military recruiters stationed in black poverty stricken neighborhoods, to Record label executives ripping off talented black artists, Credit card salespeople soliciting applications to penniless black college student and NCAA’s refusal to pay players- robing predominantly Black Athletes’ of Opportunity to Build Generational Wealth just to name a few... Pull up, tune in and join us as we discuss “Own That Shit -The Many Faces of Exploitation”

Cancel Culture Court
Wednesday Feb 17, 2021
Wednesday Feb 17, 2021
Welcome back SR Tribe to another serving of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast!
Within the past several years, the idea that a person can be “canceled” aka, culturally blocked from having a prominent public platform or career — has evolved. The idea of canceling someone coincides with a familiar pattern: A celebrity or other public figure does or says something offensive. A public backlash, often fueled by social media, then comes the calls to cancel the person or basically to end their career. The power of social media has fueled the growth of a Cancel Culture and now if it pleases the Tribe, we present to you our new judicial system, Cancel Culture Court!
In short, Cancel Culture Court is a For Us By Us (FUBU) court system, which interprets, defends, and applies the law in the name of BLACK CULTURE! Cancel Culture Court reviews defendants (i.e. R. Kelly, Bill Cosby, Rachel Dolezal) who have been canceled by the black community, reviews offense & charges and discuss potential appeals if deemed appropriate.
The Cancel Culture Court generally does not create the laws, or enforce the laws. However, we did create Cancel Culture Commandments:
- Thou shall have remorse.
- Thou shall not take sides against the culture
- Thou shall not generalize our struggle or race
- Thou shall protect women and children
- Thou shall not cancel until all facts are presented
- Thou shall not cancel immediately
- Thou shall not cancel once canceled
The Cancel Culture Court decides what really happened and what should be done about it, whether a person committed a cancellable offense and what the punishment should be. The court also provides a peaceful way to decide private disputes that cannot be resolved. Depending on the dispute some cases end up in the federal courts and some end up in state courts, but the only court that matters right now is Cancel Culture Court! Pull up and tune in, Court is in session!

It's The Intimacy For Me
Wednesday Feb 10, 2021
Wednesday Feb 10, 2021
Salutations and welcome to another hearty serving of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast! Often, people use sex and intimacy interchangeably but are they really? The SR Tribe loves when we talk our wild sex shit, but on today’s episode we dialed it back (kinda) and chopped it up about Intimacy. Ironically, this episode was moderated by Shake “The Wanderer”, and he led the discussion on types of intimacy: spiritual, emotional, mental and the one we'll focus on the most today, physical. What does intimacy mean to you, what are the factors that affect the amount of intimacy you invest into a relationship and can you have sex without intimacy?
Pull up, tune in and join us as we discuss “It’s the Intimacy for me”.

SR Report February 2021: "Robin The Hood of the Male Ego"
Wednesday Feb 03, 2021
Wednesday Feb 03, 2021
Welcome back to another episode of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast! The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Tribe requested more current events and we love our tribe. So here we are again with the February SR Report!
- Shake reports on Gamestop stock breaking the market and Robinhood’s response. A group of investors decided that they were going to stick it to the man and started a movement to crush the hedge funds. Using reddit, these groups of small amature investors created a viral movement by concentrating their money on cheap & less desirable stocks to push the price up and win against “the man” who bet against the success of those stocks
- Boogie talks about the recent Harriet Tubman $20 Bill Redesign. President Biden’s Treasury Department is studying ways to speed up the process of adding Harriet Tubman’s portrait to the front of the $20 bill after the Trump administration allowed the Obama-era initiative to lapse.
- TJ gives us the inside scoop on Married at First Sight. Chris & Paige’s story is the topic of discussion and we touch on attraction, tradition and inappropriate comments!
- Moe sheds light on Taylor Mariie’s horrible experience on January 18th, being attacked and bitten by a group of men on the street in West Harlem. She was beaten, spit on and robbed during the attack, which happened near a liquor store in her neighborhood. She said she felt like she was being attacked by animals after a group of men accosted her in Harlem, biting her face and breaking the skin.

Wednesday Dec 30, 2020
Wednesday Dec 30, 2020
Peace peace, FAMILY!!!! Welcome to the final episode of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast for 2020!
This year has been a rough one to say the least and the general consensus was to cancel 2020 because of the shenanigans we faced this year.
We experienced a Global pandemic that literally reshaped our world- New City was hit extremely hard, racial tensions and police brutality hit a new high pushing the plight of Black people to the front of the conversation in media, President Trump was on 10 with the BULLSHIT, and we reluctantly said goodbye to a slew of monumental figures this year to mention a few moments.
2020 gave us a million reasons to be thankful and no one could have seen this coming. So in this episode we take some time to recap our highs and lows of this year.
Here at Sophisticatedly Ratchet, we want to thank everyone who has ever listened in and supports us. We are humbled to have gathered listeners from across the globe, from Canada, Austria, UK, Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, French Gyana to Lithuania, South America and Mexico. And of course, we want to send a big shout out to people in our hometown NEW YORK!!!
We appreciate y'all and thanks for making our first year a huge success! Now please pull up, tune in and and join us as we discuss The SR Recap 2020!!!
Oh and Happy new year!!!
